I’m excited that you came to visit my site! Sit down with a cup of coffee (or tea, whichever floats your boat) and get comfortable. I hope to offer you tips and tricks in the various stages of parenthood while still maintaining your individual role as a person with hopes and dreams and goals to accomplish! Our role as a parent is extremely important. But all too often children are looked down on as a burden and the end of our dreams, but I am determined that this is not so.
I started a new, intense, and highly stressful job in January 2018 and then became a single mother 5.5 months later. That was only 6 months after graduating college and only three weeks before my college loans became due. Despite the cost of birthing a child and all of the necessities which babies require (i.e. diapers, clothes, wipes, pediatrician visits), I have successfully paid off one student loan and almost paid off my car now that my child is only 8 months old (as of February 2019). My journey to financial freedom is not yet complete, by any stretch of the imagination, but I’m excited to say I have a good start.
Besides budgeting, I hope to address meal planning, cooking, time management, holiday events, and traveling with a baby/child in tow over the course of my parenting journey here. I also will discuss the journey of establishing paternity, but more specifically when the father is deceased. In addition, I am a full time working mother with aspirations for a career in law enforcement, have plans to buy land, build a house, publish a book, and keep myself in good physical shape. This blog is all part of my journey.
2018 was a crazy year for me and I’m excited to build on the growth that I saw through all of the ups and downs that came with it. That being said, a longer, more in depth post about where I’ve come from can be found here.
